Computer Requirements

Macintosh

Intel Macintosh computer with OS 10.5 to 10.7 and with 4 GB of RAM and Adobe Photoshop CS3-CS4 or CS5 operated in 32-bit mode or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6-9. 2GB of RAM is the minimum requirement. The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 is 32-bit software. Currently there are no plans to develop the 64-bit Macintosh software. Lucis Pro 6 is not guaranteed to work in subsequent versions of Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as there is no way of knowing what 32-bit support will exist in CS6. The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 works with Lion (Mac OS 10.7).

Windows

A Windows XP or Vista or Windows 7 computer (32-bit and 64-bit) with 4 GB of RAM and Adobe Photoshop CS3-CS5 or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6-9. 2GB of RAM is the minimum requirement.

Macintosh Photoshop CS5 Compatibility: The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 works in the Macintosh 32-bit version of CS5. The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 is 32-bit software. Therefore it will not work in the 64-bit version of CS5. The only issue is that CS5 when run in 32-bit mode will only access 2 GB of RAM.  CS4 accesses up to 3 GB of RAM.  So please make sure that your preferences are set so Photoshop can access 70% of RAM and make sure all other Adobe applications are off when using Lucis Pro 6.

Switching from the Macintosh Photoshop CS5 64-bit mode to 32-bit mode: Lucis Pro is 32-bit software so CS5 must be operated in 32-bit mode in order for Lucis Pro to work. To operate CS5 in 32-bit mode, with CS5 off go the Applications Folder, open the CS5 folder icon, find the CS5 program and single click this icon.  Then go to file in the top menu bar, choose File >Get Info and then check the box to the left of “Open in 32-bit mode.” Start Photoshop.

Windows Photoshop CS5 Compatibility: The Windows Lucis Pro 6 works in both the 32-bit version and the 64-bit version of CS5. We found one rare and intermittent installation issue when installing the Windows 32-bit Lucis Pro 6 into the 32-bit version of CS5 and we have an easy workaround. During the installation sometimes the installer does not list CS5 as a option. If this happens, select "Other" and then install Lucis Pro 6 into the filters folder which is under the plug-ins folder of CS5.

Windows software will not work on a Macintosh computer. Running Windows on an Intel Macintosh computer using a program like Bootcamp or Parallels is not supported.
