Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 Technical Support and FAQs
The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 does not work in Photoshop CS6 as CS6 does not have 32-bit mode. I appologize for the inconvenience this causes my customers who have to use CS3-CS5 or Elelments 6-10.
There are no plans to develop the Macintosh 64-bit version of Lucis Pro 6. Developing the 64-bit version would cost as much as developing the 32-bit version and there would be no performance improvements for Lucis Pro 6. Customers will be notified should this situation change.
There are two kinds of dongles, the beige dongle that is designated Windows or Macintosh and the Universal black dongle. Lucis Pro 6 switched to the Universal black dongle in October 2009 just because it was easier. There are no functional differences between the Lucis Pro 6 software with the beige dongle or the black dongle. The latest software version for customers with the beige dongle is version 6.0.4. The latest software version for customers with the black dongle is 6.0.5. To check your version of software in Photoshop please click on Help--> About Plug-ins -> Lucis Pro 6.

Macintosh Software Technical Support: All purchases have a free 6-month tech support period, and then paid tech support is available after that. All technical support will only apply to using the Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 software in Photoshop CS3-CS5 and Elements 6-10 on an Intel Macintosh computer with Mac OS 10.5 -10.7.
Macintosh Computer Requirements
Intel Macintosh computer with OS 10.5 to 10.7 and 4 GB of RAM and Adobe Photoshop CS3 or CS4 or CS5 operated in 32-bit mode or Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 - 10. A minimum of 2 GB of RAM is required.
The Windows version will not work on a Macintosh computer. Using the Windows LucisArt 3 in Windows Photoshop on an Intel Macintosh computer (using a program like Bootcamp or Parallels to run Windows) may work. But if there is a problem using Windows LucisArt 3 software on an Intel Macintosh computer is not supported.

Installation for Intel Macintosh Computers: Lucis Pro 6.0 has an automatic installation process. Make sure Photoshop is off. Then insert the Lucis Pro 6 DVD and follow the instructions on the screen. The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6.0 may be installed in Photoshop CS3-CS5 and Photoshop Elements 6-10. If the version of Photoshop you wish to install Lucis Pro into does not appear as a choice please select "Other" and then navigate to the Filters folder which is under the Plug-ins folder in Photoshop. If you are using Photoshop CS5 then you have to run CS5 in 32-bit mode (please see below).
Using Lucis Pro 6 in Photoshop CS5: The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 works in the Macintosh 32-bit version of CS5. The Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 is 32-bit software. Therefore it will not work in the 64-bit version of CS5. The only issue is that CS5 when run in 32-bit mode will only access 2 GB of RAM. CS4 accesses up to 3 GB of RAM. So please make sure that your preferences are set so Photoshop can access 70% of RAM and make sure all other Adobe applications are off when using Lucis Pro 6.
Switching from the Macintosh Photoshop CS5 64-bit mode to 32-bit mode:
Quit Photoshop CS5 if it is running. Select Go > Applications from the Finder menu. Find the Adobe Photoshop CS5 Application folder and open it. Click once on the Adobe Photoshop CS5.app file. Choose File > Get Info from the menu. Check the "Open in 32-bit Mode" check box. Close the Get Info window. Launch Photoshop CS5 and it will open in 32-bit mode.
These instructions work for almost all Lucis Pro 6 customers. If you have any difficulty getting CS5 to operate in 32-bit mode please contact Adobe as they would know how to help you.
Lucis Pro 6.0 Patch #2 adds add memory tiling to the Macintosh Lucis Pro software for versions earlier than Lucis Pro 6.0.4. If you bought your software on or before March 4, 2009, then you need this patch. Otherwise, you have the latest version.
Directions: Click on the link below. Click on Run. A small UI pops up that says Lucis Updater. Click on the box with three dots on it and navigate to where the Lucis Pro 6.0 plug-in resides. This is typically in the filters folder which is under the plug-ins folder of Photoshop. Select the Lucis Pro plug-in and click on Open. This takes you back to the Lucis Updater UI. Click on Update.
Macintosh Updater to version 6.0.4 (Mac_Lucis_Updater 5.3 MB)
Please download and copy this software patch to a CD or DVD and print this page in case you need to reinstall Lucis Pro.
If your software does not need to be upgraded and you try to upgrade it you will simply get the message , "No Upgrade Available."

How do I switch from Macintosh to Windows Lucis Pro 6? Will I still be able to run the Macintosh Lucis Pro 6 software? Your Lucis Pro 6 DVD has the 32-bit Macintosh and the 32-bit and 64-bit Windows software on it. So the only issue determining whether or not you can run both platforms is which dongle you have. I originally sold dongles that were operating system specific and then I switched to a Universal dongle in early October 2009.
If you have a black dongle then you have a Universal dongle. Just move the black dongle to the Windows computer and install the software according to the instructions on the technical support page. If you run into a problem (such as error 2878) then you need to buy the upgrade to Windows Lucis Pro 6 version 6.0.7. Please see the online store for details.
If you have a beige dongle with a MAC label then your dongle is Macintosh only. You have to exchange your Mac dongle for a new Universal dongle and buy the Lucis Pro 6.0.7 software. Please see the online store for details.
Each copy of Lucis Pro 6 comes with at most two dongles. Buying a third dongle costs $250 plus shipping.
I want to install Lucis Pro 6.0 software into CS5 and it is already installed into CS4. How do I do that? Make sure Photoshop CS4 and CS5 are off. Then install the Lucis Pro 6.0 software from the DVD and this time it will give you the option to install into CS4 and CS5. If you purchased the Lucis Pro 6 software before March 4, 2009, then run the Macintosh Lucis Pro 6.0 updater twice to update the plug-in in CS4 and CS5.
