Lucis Pro allows you to quickly and easily repair underexposed images. Just move the Enhance Detail slider to the left until the level of detail is what you want. For most images you also have to move the Assign Original Image Color slider to 100% Original in order to remove color shifts.
Lucis Pro pulls out detail throughout the image. Part of the Lucis processing involves contrast stretching. This means that the range of contrasts in an image is stretched so the entire available range is utilized. Therefore an underexposed image will have the exposure corrected. Also Lucis Pro will not over process areas of the image with correct exposure. Areas of the image where there are no differences in the pixel intensities cannot be enhanced. There is no information to enhance in those areas.
If you are taking images with the intention of processing them with Lucis Pro later is it better to have the images slightly underexposed.
Below are four examples. The top left image is the original image. The top right image is the image with the exposure corrected using Lucis Pro only. The bottom right image shows how much detail Lucis can reveal even from these images taken at night. |
